RICHMOND, VA | NOVEMBER 13, 2023 – RiverFront Investment Group was honored to receive the Outstanding Organizational Partner Award this year at National Philanthropy Day®. RiverFront was nominated to receive the Outstanding Organizational Partner Award by The Doorways, our 2023 Charitable Giving Partner.
National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is an annual event presented nationwide by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). NPD is a special day set aside for the purpose of recognizing the great contribution philanthropy makes to our society and to honor individuals, businesses, and support organizations that are active in the philanthropic community. Since 1996, Central Virginia’s AFP Chapter has honored philanthropists, businesses, and volunteers for their impact in Central Virginia and beyond. NPD offers an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of charitable giving and the spirit that makes such generosity possible.
To qualify for this award, a corporation must demonstrate outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement. “This is an organization that has given so much to the Richmond community. It’s an organization where philanthropy, service, and volunteerism permeate the entire culture of their community,” said Sarah Melvin, Chief Philanthropy Officer of The Doorways.
